I read this to better understand Church Army's recovery family program in Branson. I was relieved to find that Steve Baughan has not tried to improve A.A.'s 12 steps.
One day I'd like to read his Al-Anon perspective.
Stephen Baughan's "We Have Recovered" would be an excellent tool for those in recovery. Steve breaks down the steps and adds to or clarifies what others have been teaching for years. The personal stories written by those who have experienced Steve's teaching and direction are powerful and thought-provoking! Great book, Stephen Baughan!
This is a great book on recovery. It takes people through the 12 steps in a progressive manner explaining the step but also practical information on what goes on inside the person working the step. Like the Big Book it has personal stories which people can connect to. It is practical, educational and well written. I highly recommend it to anyone in recovery, sponsoring someone, or anyone who has someone in their life who is or should be, in recovery. (I am not affiliated with Church Army or otherwise connected except as a purchaser of the book.)
